Once the luxuriously furnished hunting retreat of the Putbus princely family, the castle, built between 1837 and 1846, is now Rügen's most attractive visitor magnet for tourists and locals. In addition to a museum castle worth seeing, guests can expect a grueling thrill when climbing the 38 meter high tower.
