The pilgrimage chapel is right next to the Aichinger family's "Aigner Kreuz" inn, at the entrance to the "Wolfsschlucht" nature and culture trail
It is said that the judge Strauss (died 1692) went on a pilgrimage to Mariazell for his seriously ill wife. On his return he met his wife in good health at the place where the chapel rises today.
