At the height of the Krummenkreuz, a large clearing offers a nice resting place, but no distant view, as it is covered with woodland all around.

The outdoor, covered bench saved us from running through rain and thunder on our Schluchtensteig tour.
Good thing, even if the hut itself is locked. If you have a picnic blanket with you, the large meadow next to the hut is also inviting.
