The Ermita de la Virgen del Carmen in Chimeneas is a charming little chapel built in the last years of the 19th century. It was built by the residents of Chimeneas as a sign of gratitude for the fact that during the landslides of 1824, also known as the "Andalusian Landslide," there were no personal casualties, although there was considerable damage to houses and the parish church.
The hermitage is designed with simple lines and faces south. The interior of the chapel contains an altar with an image of the Virgen del Carmen, and on the walls there are niches with images of San Roque and San Judas.
