The Rosmalen sand drift is owned by the municipality of 's-Hertogenbosch. Over the past five years, extensive nature restoration has taken place there. In the past, Rosmalen often had to deal with drifting sand in the summer. Oaks have been planted to limit the drifting sand area. Scots pines and birches grow on the nutrient-poor soil. Here and there are striking old solidarity 'flying pines', sown Scots pines. Now oak shoots and young flying pines are being removed to maintain the heathlands.
