Road cycling

The crucifixion group from the workshop of Hans Backoffen (around 1514, from Eifeler Tuffstein) fell victim to the war on March 13, 1945. Only the trunk of the body of Christ was preserved. It was installed in the church in 1961 by the architect Hansjoachim Neckenig from Neuwied as part of the elimination of the serious war damage, in a modern cross designed by him, which serves to protect the body and at the same time keeps the memory of the horrors of the last days of the war alive. The cross hangs in the chancel of the church.
