A memorial cemetery from World War I and World War II is located one kilometer from Himmerod Abbey, directly on the Salm River. This memorial commemorates the many people, some of whom were very young, who fell victim to the senseless warfare. Today, this cemetery of honor is maintained by young people as part of special international youth meetings. Source: kulturdb.de/einobjekt.php?id=4695
