When climbing the Col du Lein from Etiez, it's important to note that almost at the top, after the final hairpin bend, the asphalt ends and turns into a good gravel road suitable for road bikes. On the other side, the gravel road down into the Rhône Valley is a bit longer, but not a problem in dry conditions.
