The Ureddplassen rest area on the west coast was designed by Oslo-based Haugen/Zohar Architects & Landskapsfabrikken (HZA). It also serves as a memorial to the crew of the submarine "Uredd," which struck a mine here during World War II. A monument depicting a swordfish riding a wave commemorates the 42 men who died.
