The wide path passes through the middle of this majestic, dense and immersive beech forest: an environment that changes with the seasons but remains extremely evocative.
This side of the Asiago Plateau has a long tradition of producing and harvesting wood: at the time of the Serenissima, the trunks (especially beech trees) were lowered down the valley through dedicated routes, such as the famous Calà del Sasso; they were then loaded onto rafts that went down the entire Brenta, until they reached the lagoon and the Arsenal of Venice, to build the naval fleet.
