Just a fantastic area

Beautiful and worth seeing ... However, you have to come from Norre Nebel coming this autumn swimsuits, trails are sometimes up to 80cm (!) Under water ... My Doberman had to perform two swimming movements themselves ...

Gammel Gab is the southernmost tip of the old connection of the Ringkøbingfjord to the North Sea. The actual access to the fjord was at Nymindegab. Ships from the North Sea could still enter the fjord around 1900. Where the dam with the Kystvej lies today was previously a ferry connection to the other bank to Holmsland Klit. There was a loading area for ships that delivered goods and a lifeboat station. The shipping line to the North Sea silted up more and more and was eventually abandoned. That left the Nyminde Strøm and Gammel Gab. A very nice hiking trail leads from Nymindegab to Gammel Gab along the reed belt and through the dunes.
