Big Pine Key is a paradise with beautiful beaches, parks, and top-notch diving and snorkeling. The island is home to the National Key Deer Refuge, which spans 100 miles and is a sanctuary to dozens of endangered and threatened species, including the endangered Key deer—a tiny subspecies of white-tailed deer you'll likely see roaming the island. There are many great local restaurants, pubs, and fantastic inns and B&Bs for an overnight stay if you'd like to spend more time exploring the area.
