The village church Wöllnitz is within walking distance in the formerly called Unterwöllnitz part of the village, a part of the church in the rural areas of the city of Jena, immediately east of the Saale. The church was built in 1740–1743 as a central building in the shape of an irregular octagon. Their striking shape is influenced by noble families like that of Ziegesar. The octagonal roof tower with a tail dome and lantern rises above the central area.
