The lake has a very elongated shape and runs from northeast to southwest with a maximum length (in a northeast/southwest direction) of approximately 3.2 km and a width of up to approximately 500 m. It covers an area of approximately 132 hectares and has a maximum depth of approximately 18.8 m. The underwater vegetation in the lake reaches a depth of 2.5 meters (light incidence).
The Viererseegraben (which previously flowed through Heidensee) flows into it in the northeast; in the southwest, it drains into the Great Plöner See.

The Vierer See is a lake in the municipality of Bösdorf in the Plön district of Schleswig-Holstein. It lies southeast of Plön, east of the Großer Plöner See, from which it is separated by a very narrow strip of land.
