The Riedberg Pass is considered the highest mountain pass in Germany. If you drive up from Fischen, the climb is significantly more challenging than from Balderschwang. The route has some steep sections. Traffic is okay, and you'll often encounter motorcyclists.

The Riedberg Pass, at 1,407 m above sea level,[1] is the highest drivable mountain pass in Germany. It is located near the eponymous Riedberger Horn (1,787 m) in the Allgäu Alps on the OA 9 county road between Obermaiselstein and Balderschwang in the Bavarian district of Oberallgäu.
