Lime kilns were typically build in limestone rich areas to provide lime for building mortar or agricultural purposes. This one, with 34 stone courses from the bottom to the top, was fed from the escarpment just above it.

Stunning section of gravel. The difficulties are more physical than technical, so yoou can really give it a charge. Great views. Hard work & definitely worth it!
