This section of the trail is the last segment of the Lone Star Hiking Trail, traveling from west to east. Here, you'll be hiking the lowest elevation on the entire trail—160 feet above sea level. There are plenty of creeks and drainages along the way, and you may encounter wet areas where you'll hike through ankle-deep water, especially after heavy rainfall. As you explore the lowlands, you'll experience all the rich soil has to offer in this scenic area, including a wide variety of trees, colorful dragonflies, and beautiful wildflowers, including wild orchids.
