This section of the trail runs along Double Lake Branch and is a well-maintained highlight of the Lone Star Hiking Trail. The route takes you on a journey through a beautiful forest that includes nearly every tree species discoverable in the bottom land and uplands of East Texas. The trail becomes increasingly scenic as the route approaches Big Creek Scenic Area. With numerous streams all along the route that feed the forest floor filled with wildflowers, it is a lush paradise and a fantastic day of hiking.
