Built in 1250 as a replacement for a previous wooden building. In 1432 the building was almost completely destroyed in the great city fire and only rebuilt around 1500 and the tower added.
In 1894 a Sauer organ was installed. In 2004, several niches were opened above the clock tower, which the kestrels, which have nested there since then, have used as a means of entry and nesting.

The church was first mentioned in 1250. In front of the church there are information boards about the Reformation on the occasion of the 500th anniversary.

The stone church St. Marien was built as a three-aisled basikila in the 13th century and was rebuilt in 1500 from the original Romanesque style in the Gothic style. In front of the church is a beautiful old tree with a bank around it, where you can take a good break - and watch the kestrel in the church tower at work. A great location overlooking the equally worth seeing castle church next door.
