Windmill De Onderneming in Vierhuizen
Over the first hundred years of the mill De Onderneming is surprisingly little known. After a cornerstone in the mill, it was built in 1858 on behalf of the couple Jacob Jans Loots and Geertruid Bolt, baker in Vierhuizen. Half a century ago it looked bad for Vierhuizen's eye-catchers. The mill was very dilapidated and in 1952 a demolition permit was requested.

The church of Vierhuizen was probably built in the 12th, but at the latest in the 13th century. The medieval church walls, partly made of tuff, are hidden behind a layer of plaster, which was applied in 1869. The old freestanding tufa bell tower was demolished in 1839 and replaced in 1843 with a new tower, built on the west side of the church.
