The roughly carved stone cross on the Nattererboden, south of Innsbruck, between the former Jesuit farm and the Tschurtschntaler farm, still in the forest but rising close to the edge of the meadow, owes its origin, according to legend, to a very strange event:
In ancient times, there were pastures where meadows now stand. These pastures gradually transformed into what is known as a perennial forest, where a herd of goats searched for tasty leaves, while the grassy slopes served as a source of food for a herd of cattle. No fence separated the two areas.
