Techin is a true gem! Many consider this listed village the most beautiful on the entire Schaalsee. Completely undeveloped and preserved in its natural state, Techin consists of an ensemble of approximately 20 well-preserved, thatched brick houses that blend harmoniously into the landscape. A cobblestone path leads through the village and ends in a dead-end directly at the lake. Here, you'll find a sheltered swimming area and a boat dock. Thanks to the listed status and the very limited building area, the village will retain its historic, original appearance well into the future. The picture-book village of Techin, in a stunning location, belongs to the Ludwigslust-Parchim district
in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Located directly on Lake Techin – a tributary of the Schaalsee – Techin is a district of the town of Zarrentin am Schaalsee.henriettenhof-techin.de/techin

The detour to Techin is worthwhile. Very nice thatched roof houses. Drive down Techiner Dorfstraße and turn right at the bottom. At the end is the idyllic swimming area. (Don't forget mosquito repellent!)
