Drove Castle, a stately residence, essentially consists of a two-story, three-wing complex. The main house and side wings surround a courtyard, to which an avenue leads from the gate building. It was built between 1728 and 1741 and was once the seat of the so-called lordship of Drove, not to be confused with the "Old Castle" of those of Drove, which must have been located southeast of the church. Its history goes back to Reinhard von Drove, who is mentioned in documents from the years 1239 and 1261. The area belonged to the territory of the castle in Nideggen and was given as a fief. In 1339 it was a "glory"; The respective feudal bearer, who had belonged to a branch of the von Müllenark family since the end of the 13th century, therefore also had the suffix "Herr zu Drove" in his name. With the glory came its own jurisdiction. Various owners lived in the castle from the 14th century onwards; for a long time it remained in the hands of the von Weworden family.
