This museum thematizes the history of evolution. In a playful way, the devonium explains the complexities of science of fossil life, also known as paleontology. The museum is open on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays from 9am to 12pm and from 1:30 to 4:30 pm. On Thursdays the exhibition is open in the morning. In the months of June, July and August, the doors are also opened on the weekends. Adult numbers 2.50 euros, children 2 euros. More information about the museum can be found here: devonium.de.

The "Devonium" geological museum in Waxweiler invites visitors on a journey through time to one of the most exciting epochs of evolution. In an easily understandable way, the Devonian uses fossil plant finds to illustrate how plants left the water and conquered the land in the Devonian geological era four hundred million years ago. Unique fossil exhibits from the Köppen quarry bear witness to an eventful geological past.
