The lift was inaugurated in August 2016 and allows you to overcome the difference in height of about 50 meters that separates the Balmaz car park from the village of Cheneil. It operates 24 hours a day and is unmanned, so it is used like a normal lift. As you go up, a fantastic panorama opens up, dominated by the silhouette of the Matterhorn.

The Cheneil rack-and-pinion lift, operational since 2016 in Valtournenche (Aosta), is a modern and free facility that connects the La Barmaz parking lot to the pedestrianized village of Cheneil. It overcomes a height difference of approximately 50 meters, making it easier to reach this quaint village without a car.
