"No forest without water - no life without water! If we want to live, we have to protect the forest. "Prophetic words already in the middle of the 20th century, when environmental protection and nature conservation were not yet on the social agenda. The Upper Schönmattenwager teacher Rupprecht Bayer was also pioneer in other ways: Under his direction was from 1955 to 57, the first German forest nature trail in the idyllic Ellenbachtal created.
