The hiking trail around the Herrenteich offers a great view of the lake. A detour to the Fasanerie is worthwhile. If you like, you can take a break in the refuge on the island of love. After the hike there is the possibility to stop in a café directly at the lake.

The Herrenteich is located in the heart of the carp town of Reinfeld. It was artificially created in the 12th century by the Cistercian monks as a reservoir for the Heilsau for fish farming. Carp are still bred here today.
