On the prominent edge of the Steigerwald, surrounded by vineyards, lies the town of Castell, seat of the noble family of the same name. The castle park is privately owned by the Castell family and is only open to the public in the southern, landscaped area. However, the formally designed, private palace park is open to visitors on events such as the Casteller Country House Days or the Casteller Wine Festival, as well as on agreed guided tours.
