Since 1992, the monastery, founded in the 11th century, has once again belonged to the Catholic Church. In 1804, the convent was dissolved, and only the church and adjacent buildings remained. The other buildings were given to General Knesebeck by the Prussian king for his services in the war against Napoleon. Since 1972, Benedictines have once again lived on the Huy.

In recent years, they have remodeled many buildings there. In the long term, the monks hope to develop the Romanesque complex into a spiritual center of the Diocese of Magdeburg.
