From the higher paths on the Brunssummerheide, you can look out over the Sibelco sand quarry. The deep pit with steep walls forms a striking contrast with the purple heather and surrounding forests. In the future, the plan is to gradually transform this area into a natural and recreational area once sand extraction ceases.
Nearby lies an old farmhouse, which now serves as a resting place along the route. Here you can experience a glimpse of the landscape's history: from agriculture and quarrying to nature and recreation.
