Topkapı Palace was the center of power in the Ottoman Empire and was built in the 15th century by Sultan Mehmet II. Literally translated the "Cannon Gate Palace", it was initially called the New Palace until the 19th century. After the fall of the Ottoman Empire in 1923, the palace is now a museum that houses the largest knowledge base and memoirs of Ottoman glory.
