Great stopover for hiking and MTB tours. Local pensioners manage the mountain hut, there are snacks to eat and very good cakes.

The Gugelturm, jokingly also the new Hotz, is a lookout tower on the Gugel (998 m) in the municipality of Herrischried in the Hotzenwald. The building, built by the Black Forest Association in 1971 to 1974, replaced a bell-shaped predecessor from 1929/1930. Source Wikipedia

The Gugelturm is always worth a goal. Depending on the view, the view is wonderful deep into Switzerland. There are enough trails around the Gugelturm for getting on and off. If the Gugelstube is open, a stopover makes sense and we enjoy it.
