Two houses of the merchant Myagkov are located on Karl Marx Street (former Bolkhovitinovskaya). Efim Dmitrievich Myagkov was a famous and respected merchant in the city. He can rightfully be called the Borisoglebsk Savva Morozov. He allocated 200,000 rubles for the construction of the People's House (now the N.G. Chernyshevsky Drama Theater). In Borisoglebsk, the Myagkovs owned many houses, including these two houses. Not only the houses themselves have been preserved, but also the ancient arched gates connecting them.
The houses contain living quarters.
