    Hiking

The Barbary Macaque Feeding Station is located on the Rock of Gibraltar and is a popular place to observe the famous Barbary macaques up close.

Here, the animals are specifically fed and cared for to ensure their survival and control their behavior. Visitors can see the monkeys roaming freely – often they come very close. Important: Feeding is prohibited for tourists, as the animals can become aggressive otherwise.

The station is part of the Upper Rock Nature Reserve and is one of the highlights of a visit to Gibraltar. Firm behavior (no showing food, keeping distance) ensures a safe experience.

    Hiking

The Barbary macaque feeding station in Gibraltar offers visitors a unique opportunity to experience the famous monkeys up close. The monkeys are curious and trusting, which makes for exciting encounters. The feeding station itself is well organized and respects the animals' natural behavior, which promotes sustainable handling. However, care should be taken not to get too close to the monkeys or to feed them, as they can sometimes be unpredictable.
