This market is a relic from the Khmer Rouge era, when there was little food in the country and people were forced to eat insects. For example, you can find fried tarantulas with garlic, fried locusts and cockroaches, silkworms and much more. You can also see live tarantulas up close. Apparently, their biting tools have been removed beforehand so that they cannot cause any harm.
