The ground under fields and meadows is wet in many places, the water is mainly in those areas that have already been renatured, just below the surface. It has always been wet here in the valley between Bruck in the north and the Pausmühle in the south. Before farmers began to cultivate the area, around 1880, a high moor stretched over about 400 hectares.
