Almost on the French-Belgian border, less than 100m on Belgian territory, this historic farm with a 19th-century view stands out.
It was probably once the foncier (residence of the lord) of the Steenburg estate. On the Ferraris map (1770-1778) it was already indicated as a partly walled farm with separate components and a long eastern driveway. Halfway through the 19th century it was indicated as Ferme Dumortier and with a roughly similar layout to the current situation. The rampart has been partly preserved, indicated by poplars.
The detached gatehouse is 18th century.
The western stable wing dates from 1879.
The whole could use a major restoration.
