This pretty little church is one of only three in Sussex with a round tower. The building you see today is essentially the nave of a 12th-century church which has kept its round tower but lost its original chancel and aisles. There are two Norman windows, one blocked, and 13th-century wall paintings inside. The clearest of these paintings is on the west wall and depicts Christ in Majesty.

A beautiful little church with an old graveyard and flower-garden. There is a water tap specifically for hikers next to the church gate. The village green right in front of the church is an ideal spot for a picnic and has great trees with plenty of shade.

As my picture shows, whilst the water point here was gratefully found, the best thing about stopping at Southease was the swing outside the church.
