A trendy "zebra donkey" and the colorful "Leone" from Löwental
Strikingly designed gray animals join the ranks of famous works of art in large cities

Today, "Leone" and "zebra donkey" are introducing themselves, having been patiently waiting for this moment for weeks before Marktplatz regional ends the series next week.
The two donkeys are far apart from each other: Leone in Löwental, Zebresel at Trifelsring. At the donkey parade, however, they were allowed to present themselves together on the same float.
Zebresel" is neither a zebra nor a donkey - at least as far as the painting is concerned. We wanted something unusual, not to commit to one animal.Zebresel Because the zebra pattern is currently in fashion, we decided on it and, as a bang, embellished the mane and hooves with bright pink," explain Judith and Esther Laux with Dirk Schäfer, who gave the donkey to the community. The three of them designed the animal together. He is now the third donkey to grace the Trifelsring, where even the geraniums have been colour-coordinated to match him. Judith Laux and Dirk Schäfer have already encountered the colourful cows in Zurich, the colourful horses in Melbourne and the futuristic "Squeezles" in Milwaukee, USA, on their holiday trips together. "These works of art in big cities are admired by countless millions of people. With the donkey parade, Eschbach has now joined this circle," say Esther, Judith and Dirk happily.

"Leone" and "Zebresel", which are completely identical in shape but completely different in appearance, also contribute to the donkey parade in the "donkey village" spreading a very special artistic flair. (Source: "Die Rheinpfalz" - Marktplatz Regional)

Young artists tackle the gray animals with paint and brush

ILBESHEIM: Students from the art working group at the primary and secondary schools create a school-going donkey and a hiking donkey. The Eschbach donkeys are still waiting behind closed doors for their appearance at the anniversary. But anyone who has managed to catch a glimpse of them is fascinated, whether as an observer or as one of the artists who are beautifying the gray animals with brushes and acrylic paints. Like the students of the "Kleine Kalmit" primary and secondary school in Ilbesheim.Circulus Trivelis
For them and their art teacher Ulla Stumpf, there has only been one topic in recent weeks: the Eschbach donkey. At the ceremony in the village community center, one of the 30 brightly painted animals was allowed to present itself to the festival guests for the first time, representing all the others. With his head held proudly high, he seemed to enjoy the curious glances on stage. There is a lot to admire about him - thanks to the imagination of Ulla Stumpf and her little artists. The Eschbach children who go to school in Ilbesheim have painted a donkey for residents of Trifelsring, which will beautify this Eschbach district for the anniversary. On the left side of the donkey's body, the children have painted their entire route to school, the school bus, the Kalmit school, the vineyards and the small Kalmit; on the right side, the town centre appears with the village fountain, church and half-timbered houses. The Eschbach Castle sits above everything, and the Trifels greets you from afar. The children brought a real picture book donkey to life in their free time as part of an art club - naive painting that couldn't be more beautiful.
