At the edge of the forest, next to the Fernblick restaurant, on the so-called Rodfeld, a lookout tower was built in 2000 for the 1000th anniversary of the Neuses district. The 18.5 meter high tower is accessible to the public via a metal spiral staircase. The Rodfeld Tower offers magnificent views of the hills from its 15.2-meter platform. The Ronneburg can also be seen from here.

Worthwhile climb, it's worth the look

From the Rodfeld Tower you have a distant view from west to north to east. In the west one sees z. B. the cooling towers of the Groß-Krotzenburg power plant. In the north you can see the towering Ronneburg, and in the east you can see as far as the Eidgesäß. At the foot of the tower there is a parking lot, and next to it the Fernblick restaurant (closed due to Corona).

The tower is of course an absolute highlight, regardless of whether you take the path to the distant view on foot or by bike. From here there are various hiking and cycling routes that guarantee a beautiful tour.

After a climb over the 80 iron lattice steps, you will be rewarded with a wonderful view all the way to the Ronneburg on a nice day. For little money you can also explore the area with a coin-operated telescope (Graphoskop VII 15 x 60 mono) attached to the tower.
