Erected in 1474, with the convent of the Minori Osservanti friars, later renovated, with the help of Duke Ferdinand II, on the remains of a Benedictine abbey and a nearby church dedicated to S. Maria della Pace, from which it took its name.

Later, the friars having built a votive altar to Saint Sebastian in 1483 and the town having attributed the immunity from the plague of those times to the benevolence of that saint, the road that leads to it was named after him. The interior, with three naves, was completely transformed in the 17th century. The cloister has a square patio, with large arcades on the ground floor and on which the factories on the first floor are located.
