The Construction of Mizuho Pier began in 1925 and was completed in 1945. After World War Ⅱ, the pier was requisitioned by the U.S. forces stationed in Japan and since the peace treaty was concluded, it has been in use as the U.S. forces facilities offered by Japan. Still at present, seven berths(a total length of 1,295m)are used by the U.S.Army in Japan and they are commonly called as "North pier".
