    Pear Mill Riverside Location & Architectural Legacy
    Situated on the River Goyt in Lower Bredbury, this Grade II* listed Edwardian mill was designed by A.H. Stott & Sons and later completed by P.S. Stott. Originally planned as a double mill, only one was built, beginning production in July 1913.


    Industrial Peak & Evolution
    At its height, the mill employed 300 workers operating 52 spinning mules with 137,312 spindles. In the 1950s, it modernized with 33,636 ring spindles before ceasing textile operations in March 1978.
