In the summer of 1927, building 063 was built to replace the dining room and changing rooms that had been eliminated, and after its completion in August 1927, work on converting the theater began. The focus of the work was the creation of the “hall for entertainment evenings”, as it was called from then on.

During the Weimar Republic, it was successful in keeping the "Hall of Entertainment Evenings" largely free of political events. This changed when the National Socialists came to power in 1933. From then on, the hall increasingly became a political stage. The entertainment evenings were misused for National Socialist purposes.

A few weeks after the surrender, Wolfen became part of the Soviet occupation zone. However, the return of the cultural evenings was not long in coming. On the initiative of the newly founded local group of the SPD, the first entertainment evenings were held as early as 1946. The actors were both professional and amateur artists.
