According to legend, after returning from a crusade, the lord of Arnstein put his unfaithful wife - she claimed that the devil in the form of a dog had impregnated her despite her chastity belt - in a barrel with thorns and let her roll down the castle rock. The place where the barrel with the dead woman came to rest was the place where the church was founded. The mysterious gravestone of the unfortunate woman, with the image of a dog with a lily growing out of its belly, still stands today in the Alland parish church. The pulpit of the pilgrimage church was originally in the St. Laurentius Church in Mayerling (demolished in 1889).

What the Catholics have come up with.
A good story for a horror film.

The high altar, with a freestanding altar table dating from 1771 from the former high altar of the Heiligenkreuz Collegiate Church, with a domed, neoclassical tabernacle in the form of a temple flanked by angel figures, was brought here from Heiligenkreuz in 1831.

The pulpit, dating from around 1700 and featuring a hexagonal basket, was brought here from the Laurentius Church in Mayerling.

The organ, in a simple original case, was built by Alois and Ferdinand Erler in 1857.
