Called "The most beautiful forest trail in Italy", it is a route that connects the Cancellino area (between Passo dei Mandrioli and Badia Prataglia) with La Lama, in correspondence with the forest of the same name. The route was created at the beginning of the 20th century as the site of a small railway set up for the movement of wood, which remained operational for about 20 years. Today this route is part of one of the itineraries proposed by the Parco delle Foreste Casentinesi to be traveled by bike (MTB route 7). The outward journey (from Cancellino to La Lama) is almost entirely downhill. The return journey takes place along the same route taken on the outward journey, therefore uphill. The complete itinerary, outward and return, consists of 38km for about 650m of active altitude difference.
==================
Nicknamed "The most beautiful forest road in Italy," this route connects the locality of Cancellino (between Passo dei Mandrioli and Badia Prataglia) with La Lama, corresponding to the forest of the same name.
The route was originally established in the early 1900s as the site of a small railway built for timber transportation, which remained operational for about 20 years.
Today, this path is part of one of the itineraries proposed by the Parco delle Foreste Casentinesi for cycling, specifically MTB Route 7.
The outbound journey (from Cancellino to La Lama) is almost entirely downhill, while the return trip follows the same route in reverse, making it a challenging uphill ride. The complete itinerary—round trip—covers 38 km with an elevation gain of approximately 650 meters.
