The Nike Missile Site LA-04 at Mt. Gleason is the highest Nike installation in the United States, which operated from 1955 to 1974. This historic site was the first Nike facility in the Angeles National Forest. While little remains of the original structures, the site offers a stunning view from the top and a tribute to firefighters who battled the Station Fire. The unnamed road diverting Mount Gleason Road is paved but bumpy and brings bikers up to the missile site.
