This is the trailhead for the Pelican Valley Trail, which also splits off into the Turbid Lake Trail. Before you go, you should know that because this trail is in prime grizzly habitat, human activity is strictly managed — for everybody's safety.

As part of that management strategy, the National Park Service keeps this trail closed until July 4 every year. They also strongly advise hiking only in groups of four or more people; you're not allowed to go off-trail for the first 2.1 miles (3.4 km); and humans are only allowed on the trail from 9am to 7pm. No overnight camping.
