The River Quaggy splits Chinbrook Meadows in two and a little bridge crosses it here. When the park was created in the early 20th century, the river was hidden by concrete channels. Work by the local community in partnership with the Quaggy Waterways Action Group restored the river to its former glory by removing 1,000 feet (300 m) of concrete, opening the doors to plant and animal life once more.
