I'm glad that I wasn't put off by the popular literature about this route.
For me, driving up the Fern Pass was the real highlight.

Great section on the Via Claudia Augusta. The fantastic view compensates for all previous efforts.

This place is connected to a wooden bridge directly on the rock. From there you have a fantastic view of the Fern Pass and Fernsteinsee. However, the path there is very steep, with a gradient of around 15%. You should be careful when traveling with bicycles, as the path is quite narrow in some places and there is no protection on the sides. Still, it's worth it.
Panoramic view recommended!
- great view
- approx. 15% gradient
- narrow in some places and without protection
- more recommended for experienced cyclists
